Luke Aoe, CEO and President of YourVirtualHR, Inc.

Luke has over 15 years of experience in all aspects of Human Resources, benefits, payroll management, and mergers & acquisitions derived from industries such as mortgage/banking, manufacturing and distribution, and professional services. Luke’s specialty is incorporating technology to support corporate tactical and strategic initiatives from a human resources perspective.

Luke graduated from University of California, Irvine with Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Management, and also received his MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and Management. Luke currently holds designations of Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Project Management Institute (PMI). He has also served as board member in several Human Resource Industry Boards such as the California Unemployment Insurance Counsel (CUIC) as well as Professionals in Human Resource Association (PIHRA).

Bernadette M. O’Brien, Esq., SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Ms. O’Brien is a partner at Floyd Skeren Manukian Langevin (FSML), an SPHR certified/SHRM-SCP Human Resources Executive, and team leader of Your Virtual HR’s highly skilled consultants and E-Learning Program. Ms. O’Brien also serves as general counsel and executive advisor to FSML’s Human Resources (HR) Department and is managing attorney of the firm’s employment law department. She is a published author, distinguished speaker, and website content developer.

Ms. O’Brien defends employers in employment related disputes including claims related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, privacy, and leave of absence laws. Tara M. Cufaude, MA

Ms. Cufaude is an HR Consultant who provides HR policy implementation, employee handbook implementation, EEO compliance assistance, and management/employee training on numerous topics including AB 1825 Sexual Harassment Training, meal and rest period management, disability management, interactive process and accommodation, leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA and PDL), performance management, and conflict resolution. Ms. Cufaude is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and she obtained her Master’s in clinical psychology from the University of San Francisco. Ms. Cufaude has also completed an advanced HR training program from the University of California at Davis.

Lupe Aguirre Onechanh has served on the Executive Board of Directors for the California Unemployment Insurance Council (CUIC) since 2004. She also previously served on the Board of Directors for the Employment Round Table of Southern California (ERTSC) which partners with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. In 2013, Ms. Aguirre Onechanh was named Latina of Influence by Hispanic Lifestyle and recognized for her accomplishments of serving the non-English speaking community. She currently directs a variety of aspects in Human Resources for an international Lifestyle Brand. With over 19 years of experience, her areas of proficiency include Risk Management (Safety/ Workers’ Compensation), Employee Relations, Total Compensation/ Benefits, Diversity, Social Responsibility, Performance Management, Training & Development, Change Management, and Conflict Resolution.

Sarah Rios previously served as CUIC Board Advisor from 2010 to 2017 and served as CUIC Board President from 2007 to 2010. Ms. Rios was also former President of Personnel Management Association of Aztlan from 2007-2008.Sarah is a senior management professional with over 30 years of experience in Human Resources (HR), with a specialty in Unemployment Insurance (UI) Management. Prior to starting her own human resources consulting service, she worked for Employment Tax Services as Director of UI Operations. During her 20-year tenure at the Employers Group, a Human Resources organization, Ms. Rios held positions as a Manager (Riverside Office), Manager of UI Services, UI Hearing Specialist, UI Workshop Trainer, and Helpline HR Consultant.
